Domain name registration

A domain name is the unique label people use to access a web site (for example, our domain name is intermast.com.au). Ideally, your domain name should be one that people can easily associate with your business or what you are trying to promote.

Web hosting

In order for the client's web site to be available 24 hours a day, it is necessary to arrange a server - a computer permanently connected to the internet - where the client's web page files, and associated files will be stored. This is called web hosting.

Intermast Studios is able to provide clients with web hosting services.


Domain name delegation

As part of setting up your web hosting account, Intermast Studios will arrange delegation of the client's chosen domain name. This involves registering the domain name and our web host server identification on a domain name server (which is analagous to a telephone exchange).


Web site development

Web site development can actually be broken into the following stages:

  • Planning

    • This is where we establish the goals of the site, who the target market is, the type of web site suited to the client's needs, a detailed work scope, and a project program.

  • Design

    • This is where we design the components of the site: graphics, multimedia, forms, databases, e-commerce functionality, and so forth. Programming is developed to tie all the components together.

  • Testing

    • When the design process is complete, we carry out testing to make sure that it functions as intended with different browser configurations. We ask people who haven't been involved with the design process to test the site and provide comments.

  • Site Implementation

    • After ensuring the site works as intended, Intermast Studios uploads the site to the web host's server. If required, details of the site are then submitted to search engines.

At all stages, Intermast Studios involves the client to ensure that the work will achieve the client's objectives.

The price we charge for web site development will depend on the type of web site you require and the amount of content involved. You may only require a simple information web page or a full e-commerce shopping site or something in between.

If the web site appropriate to the client's needs is an e-commerce site, Intermast Studios can set up the databases, shopping cart systems, and secure on-line payment processes.


Search engine listing & optimisation

Whilst developing the client's web site, Intermast Studios will ensure that keywords and other features are included to optimise placement in Search Engine listings. Intermast Studios can submit the site details to a selection of the many search engines now available on the Internet.

We use Google Sitemaps to inform Google's crawler about all your pages and to help people discover more of your web pages.


Site maintenance

In order to keep people interested in coming back to a web site, we recommend web sites are updated regularly. How often the site is updated will depend on the nature of the web site. Intermast Studios can implement an on-going maintenance program on an existing web site or one we create for the client.


Graphics

Intermast Studios can create graphics to suit the client's needs, specifically for the client's web site and/or for printing purposes.


Email stationery

Traditionally, organisations have sent their correspondence on customised printed stationery. These days email is used as a quick and efficient way to communicate. We can design email stationery to match existing printed stationery or to match the design of the client's web site.
